Flip Clock Timer
How to set a countdown
Type hours, minutes and seconds above the flip display, or tap a preset — 1:00 for a quick reset, 5:00 and 10:00 for drills, 25:00 and 30:00 for study blocks, 60:00 for a full hour. Press Start, and the cards fold down once per second with a thin progress bar underneath. Space pauses and resumes, R resets. Your last length stays in the boxes, so repeating the same interval is one keypress.
Where this timer earns its keep
In a classroom it works projected large: students see time disappearing without a ticking sound taking over the room. For study, pair a 25 or 50-minute countdown with the flip clock pomodoro timer when you want automatic breaks, or run it plain when you want a single hard stop. In the kitchen and gym it survives flour hands and sweat — set it, hit fullscreen with F, and read it from across the room. Coaches use the 60-second and 5-minute presets for rounds and rest.
Accurate, loud enough, hard to miss
The countdown is measured against the system clock on every animation frame, not by counting ticks, so it does not drift when the tab sits in the background. When it ends you get three signals at once: a soft chime (pick Soft triad, Bell or Digital in Settings), a flashing browser title, and an optional system notification if you enable it. Keep the tab open and the volume up — browsers will not play sound from a muted or closed tab. For long kitchen or classroom runs, press F for fullscreen and switch on Keep screen awake so the display never dims mid-countdown.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use this flip clock as a Pomodoro or study timer?
Yes, you can use this site as a Pomodoro and study timer without leaving the flip style. Open the Pomodoro page for classic 25-minute focus with 5-minute breaks and auto-cycling long breaks, all editable. Use the Timer page for custom countdowns like 50/10 study blocks, with chime, flashing title and notifications. Both stay accurate in background tabs and read clearly in fullscreen from across the room.
How do I make the flip clock full screen?
Press F on your keyboard or use the Fullscreen button in Settings to make the flip clock full screen. The cards expand to fill your monitor edge to edge, controls fade away, and pressing Esc or F again exits. It works on Windows, Mac, Chromebooks and tablets. Combine fullscreen with Hide controls and Keep screen awake for a clean desk display, classroom projector or overnight bedside clock without dimming.
Will the screen stay on while the clock is running?
Yes, your screen can stay on while the clock runs if you enable Keep screen awake in Settings. It uses the browser Wake Lock API to block dimming and sleep during desk displays, classroom projection, overnight use or long timers. The lock releases when you close the tab or toggle it off. If your browser does not support Wake Lock, also set your system sleep to never for the same effect.
Does the flip clock work offline?
Yes, the flip clock works offline after your first visit. The site installs a lightweight service worker that caches the app shell, so reopening the page without Wi-Fi still shows the clock, timer, stopwatch and Pomodoro. Time comes from your device clock, not the network, so it stays correct. Reconnect once to pick up updates. Note that world-zone daylight-saving rules rely on your system data when offline.
